Our Dental Team
Dr. Anwar Al-Gertani
Hello! My Name is Dr. Anwar Al-Gertani. I’m excited to be a part of South Airdrie Smiles, and can’t wait to serve the Airdrie community! I completed my dental training at Western University in Ontario and recently moved back to Alberta. I became an active member of the Alberta Dental Association and College and the Canadian Dental Association upon return. As a mother of two, I truly believe that prevention is the best course of dental treatment. It is extremely important to me that we educate patients at all stages of their life to take their oral health into their own hands. By doing this we often prevent small issues with easy solutions from becoming major problems that require extensive treatment. It is my goal to really hear my patients’ concerns and come up with a customized treatment plan that suits you. I love the feedback I get when patients share their positive dental experience with me!I am truly dedicated to this profession, and as such have devoted a great deal of time continuing to educate myself. It is important to me to keep up with the most current techniques and procedures to be able to give my patients the best care available.
Dr. Amrita Sandhu-Gill
Hi! My name is Dr. Amrita Sandhu-Gill and I am a general dentist here at Beacon Smiles Dental. I was born and raised in Edmonton, AB. I attended the University of Alberta and completed my undergraduate degree in Biological and Physical Sciences. I moved out east to Boston, MA to complete my dental degree at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. After graduating, I moved back to Alberta and my husband and I have made Calgary our new home.
Our goal at Beacon Smiles is to provide an excellent experience for each of our patients. From our very first visit, we strive to create a dental experience that is custom tailored to your individual needs. We want to work together with our patients to enhance their oral health through a comprehensive approach. In doing so, I strongly focus on educating my patients about their dental needs so that each patient is able to make informed decisions regarding their treatment. I appreciate and am excited to answer any questions or concerns that my patients have regarding their treatment options.
The most rewarding part of my day is when I am able to make the most anxious and hesitant patients, both young and old, feel comfortable and relaxed during their dental visits. In addition to using particular approaches to help manage stress that our patients go through, I also offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation options for your visits.
In my spare time, I focus my time on working out and living a healthy lifestyle, and convincing my husband to do the same
